We had a great visit to Minnesota in early August. We spent a couple of days with Sarah, Jason, "the boys," Stephie, Brian, and their dog Murphy. It was a blast. Rebekah and Nico played together quite a bit, particularly in the sand box. When we got out the slip and slide, Theo was definitely the most interested. On one rainy afternoon we took them all to The Mall of America where Nico and Rebekah went on the flume ride - twice! They also went on a small roller coaster, merry go round, etc.
We did celebrate their birthdays while we were in the cities. It was kind of special with their cousin's being around. Rebekah got lots of crafts and princess stuff. Kara got a doll, crafts, and a tinker bell toy.
After spending time in the Cities, we headed up to Duluth. We spent most of our time at Mom and Dad's house playing and relaxing. They enjoyed playing on the neighbor's swings, picking raspberries, swimming in the cold lake and warm pool. We did have the opportunity to go to their friend's house which is on a lake. We went for a boat ride, went swimming, and Rebekah even caught some fish.
Kara is really talking quite a bit. She sometimes puts together five or six words in a row. She enjoys combining multiple stories such as the three little pigs and goldilocks and the three bears. She is very intense when she tells the story and they go something like this. "Goldilocks sit down. Chair break. Bad. Fire burn wolf tail. Hurt. Bandaid." She also likes to tickle us and will touch her thumb and fingers together and say "tickle, tickle, tickle." It eventually sounds like "ticka ticka ticka."
