Trip West: Moab, UT

After a couple days in Estes Park, we headed down the road to Moab, where Arches National Park and Canyonlands are located. There's lots to do there from camping, hiking, mountain biking, river rafting, and the favorite: Jeep offroading. Didn't get to do all that, but we did do was a lot of sightseeing of spectacular views.

Here's Rebekah and Kara just looking cool on the road.

This is just a sample of the scenery on the road down to moab from the highway.
Here's the sleepy little town of Moab. Sort of a desert town, but set up to deal with all those young adventure seekers.

Here's our first stop in Arches National Park, called park avenue. On the right side of the picture is a stand of narrow stone 400 ft in the air.

Kara making a statement at Balanced Rock.

Here's a landscape photo of delicate arch, the one that's been on Utah license plates and everything else Utah.

Rebekah walked over with dad to get a good look of the arch and a good picture. Rebekah did a great job walking.... since Kara occupies the backpack carrier these days.
We were able to obtain passes into the Fiery Furnace, a canyon maze. We spent a couple of hours exploring the area. There are no signs and no structuered paths but we did not get lost!
Our last arch of the day was landscape arch. The girls enjoyed the snow and although we were tired, the hike was worth it.
