Trip to Hutchinson, KS

Last month we took a weekend trip to Hutchinson, KS to visit the Cosmosphere and Space Museum and Underground Salt Mine. The Museum was based on the space race with the Soviet Union and contained space artifacts from that time period.

The following day we went 600 feet underground to visit a salt mine. The girls enjoyed exploring and even kept their hard hats on the whole time. They are not currently mining the area we were in but do use it to store movies, memorabilia, papers, documents, etc. since the temperature and humidity are constant. We were allowed to bring home some salt in little bags and the girls still play with them today.
