This past weekend we headed to Tennessee to celebrate Bob and Dynel's 40th wedding anniversary. I drove up on Friday with the girls and Scott joined us Saturday morning after work. The whole family was also there for the celebration. On Friday we spent the afternoon at Watauga Lake and had a picnic from KFC. We enjoyed long walks, picking flowers and resting after the long drive. I brought the little kids' toilet and Kara enjoyed sitting on it while the rest of us sat on blankets. The next day we hung out together and Rebekah got her nails done by Aunt Allisa while the details of the surprise party were being tended to. Bob and Dynel were blindfolded and then driven around until we arrived at their friend's house. When they took off the blindfolds they sure were surprised to see so many friends and family. They thought we were just going out to dinner as a family. We had a good evening of sharing stories, eating barbecue and cake. Sunday we all headed to church then Scott had to leave later that day. I stayed with the girls for another couple of days. We visited a park that had animals such as deer, wolves, birds, etc. The girls especially liked the turtles and hearing the wolves howling.
Kara is starting to put two or three words together. "All done." "Thank you." She also likes to make a lot of different sounds and then laughs at herself. She likes to repeat what we are saying and seems to giggle all the time. She does have a little defiant streak to her and loves to stick out her lower lip when she is not happy with us.
Rebekah likes to help out a lot and has starting having little chores like picking up her toys in the evening. She is very proud when she is done.
They have both developed the Savery taste buds for ice cream and love running around in their underwear.
